Information will be updated according to program time, program location and program type. Information will be updated by the following times and vary according to program and location.

  • 4:30AM | Hunt Club Park Community Center and FitNation
  • 6:00AM | Morning CARE
  • 7:30AM | Morning classes
  • 10:00AM | Afternoon classes

General guidelines for emergency program cancellations are as follows:

All programs will be canceled until 5:00 pm. At 3:30 pm the weather, road conditions and school availability will be evaluated and the Director of Recreation will make a determination if programs will be held after 5:00 pm.

The CARE/Preschool program at Hunt Club Park Community Center will be canceled for that day. The Director of Recreation will make a determination on all other programs based on the weather, road conditions and school availability. Preschool will only be canceled if District 50 closes due to weather emergencies.

The CARE/Preschool program at Spaulding, Gurnee Grade and Viking will be canceled for that day. The Director of Recreation will make a determination on all other programs based on the weather, road conditions and school availability. Preschool will only be canceled if District 56 closes due to weather emergencies.

Director of Recreation will make a determination on all programs based on the weather, road conditions and school availability. A decision will be made by 7:30 am for all morning classes, by 10:00 am for all afternoon classes and by 3:30 pm for all evening classes.

Special event cancellations will occur 1 to 2 hours prior to the event.  The most up-to-date information for all cancellations can be found on the home page, facebook page or sent directly through the opt-in feature on the Rainout Line.

Director of Recreation will make the determination on the Fitness Center and Drop-in Programs at Hunt Club Park Community Center at 4:30 am for morning opening, by 10:00 am for afternoon hours and 3:30 pm for evening hours.

Participants are reminded that Gurnee Park District makes every attempt to open facilities and operate programs. However, the ultimate decision to attend a program during inclement weather belongs to the participant. Participants need to make a determination as to whether or not it is too cold, windy or snowy for their children to safely travel to and from a program.
